Union County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship
To the Student:
Thank you for your interest in our scholarship. This year we will be offering three (3) $1000 scholarships to students who are residents of Union County and who are planning on pursuing a career in education. The scholarships are available to both high school and college students for undergraduate education. Students may apply each year in which they are eligible. Past recipients may apply for a second year, but no person will be awarded this scholarship more than twice.
If you are applying as a new applicant for a scholarship, please include the information from your guidance office, your list of activities, and your one page essay on the stated topic. This information is very important to us in the selection process.
If you have applied for this scholarship in the past, please include your new information from your college dealing with your college classes and activities. You do not have to resubmit your high school transcript. Please include your list of activities and your one page essay on the stated topic. The U.C.R.T.A scholarship committee will make its selections based on the applications that are received this year. It is important for you to present all of your information each time you apply.
Please have everything completed and turned in to your high school guidance department by April 27, 2014. The selection of the winners will be made and announced shortly after that date. You will be notified when the selections are made. Scholarships will be awarded at our June 6, 2014, luncheon meeting.
Thank you and good luck!
